One of the territories top general contractors is looking for an effective Construction Estimator to advise on the foreseeable cost of each of our projects. The Construction Estimator should obtain all relevant project specifications, determine the most appropriate building materials, is detail-oriented and secure favorable pricing. Top candidates will be strong leaders, pro-active, and perform well under pressure.
Job duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Visit sites, warehouses and other venues to gather essential information
• Review documents or consult experts to collect all necessary data and documents: plans, drawings and project specifications
• Analyze data and produce forecasts
• Prepare detailed bids and reports
• Foster relationships with key vendors (subcontractors, architects)
• Identify appropriate material and people for the project
• Obtain multiple quotes
• Accounting for the use of resources
Required qualifications, skills, and experience:
• Understanding of accounting and project management concepts
• Excellent research methodologies, data analysis and estimation metrics
• Great attention to details
• Well-organized and reliable
• Problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Project management skills such as time management, project budgeting, resource management and project scheduling
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, architecture, construction management or related field
• Strong knowledge of construction management best practices
• Fluency in software programs related to construction management, including project management software
• Current with rules and regulations related to construction
• 5+ years’ experience as a construction superintendent.
• Proficient with MS Office Word and Excel.
